Emma Stone inspired tutorial

I saw this pic of Emma Stone and fell in love with the look.  I of course had to pull out my beloved Sleek Vintage Romance palette and give it a go.  My version is slightly more wearable as I didn't bring the purple up so far and I passed on the false lashes.  I also opted for bright pink lips instead.

Products Used
NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base
Sleek Vintage Romance palette -
                                                   Meet in Madrid (medium-pale gold)
Marry in Monte Carlo (medium fuschia)
Bliss in Barcelona (medium-dark blue toned purple)
                                                   Love in London (medium black)
Boots Natural Collection eyeshadow in Sea Shell (light, matte nude)
Rimmel Glam Eyes black liquid liner
Illamasqua Sophie pencil (black)
Benefit They're Real mascara

1.  After priming the lid, apply Marry in Monte Carlo in the crease with a fluffy blending brush.
2.  Pat Meet in Madrid onto the lid using a flat shader brush.
3.  With a tapered blending brush, apply Bliss in Barcelona on top of the fuchsia shadow, leaving some fuchsia showing at the top.
4.  Apply Sea Shell on the brow bone and blend downwards softening the fuchsia.
5.  Using a clean flat shader brush, apply Marry in Monte Carlo under the eye.  Place Bliss in Barcelona on top of this along the outer half of the lower lash line.
6.  Taking the tapered blending brush, apply Love in London to the outer crease to darken.
7.  With a clean brush, blend until there are no harsh lines.
8.  Line your lid with black liquid liner, and then add black pencil liner to the upper and lower waterlines.
9.  Add mascara and you're done!

Super quick FOTD

So the past couple of days I've been doing some work in a new makeover studio in Bath.  As it's a good hour - hour and a half away, and I love my sleep, I haven't had time to take decent pictures of my makeup.  I snapped this shot with my phone before my first client showed up this morning.  I tend to stick to quite simple makeup when working with the general public.  I'm having a love-hate relationship with my fringe at the moment.  The slightest drop of rain and it goes curly :o(

Gemini FOTD

I was glad to see this Sephora face chart was nice and simple, and a look that I always love; black winged liner and a bright lip.  As I was off to the cinema I knew that I'd be needing to wear my glasses (I always should, but don't!).  A bright lip is perfect for a simple look that looks great with, or without glasses.  I opted for a bright pink lip, rather than fuchsia, as I wanted to wear my Armani Lip Maestro.  It's such a great formula that even after cinema drinks and lunch it still looked great.  I took a gloss with me (Chanel Aragonite) in case my lips got dry, but didn't find myself needing it until about 8pm!  It's a shame that you can't see what an amazing pink it is unless I seriously play around with the contrast/brightness etc (which I haven't done as it'll mess up the rest of the picture!)

Pink Lipsticks Part Two

To get me through my no-buy I'm going through my stash, discovering things I don't use very often.  It's also a great chance for me to show you some of my lipsticks that aren't new!  You can find part one here.

Benefit - My Treat
This is probably the oldest lipstick in my collection, and I think they've probably re-formulated their lipstick since then, but I think they still do this shade.  It's a medium coverage cool toned pink, with a very subtle hint of coral.  This lipstick is nicely moisturising and has quite a lot of slip, so staying power isn't amazing.  Normally around the two hour mark for me.

Illamasqua - Resist
Another older lipstick, this shade has unfortunately been discontinued, which sucks because it's such a great colour.  It's a medium-deep pink raspberry shade with a matte finish.  Illamasqua lipsticks aren't my favourite formula as most of them are matte and pretty unforgiving on the lips.  This is one of only a couple of shades I'll make an exception for.

MAC - Candy Yum Yum
This was so popular when the Quite Cute collection came out that it soon made a comeback in By Request.  It's the brightest pink I own, an almost neon blue-based pink, so it's not for the faint of heart!  It's a matte finish, but isn't as drying or clingy as some of their older mattes.  You'll still want to prep your lips before hand though.

MAC - Gladiola
Another oldie, this was released with the Dame Edna collection back in 2008.  I don't wear it any more, but I don't have the heart to get rid of it.  It's a muted purpley pink with a matte finish.  This is one of those lipsticks that I'm trying to find a dupe for.  Although the packaging is so awesome that I'm not even sure I'd throw it away once I have a replacement!

MAC - Of Royalty
Once again, this is one of those lipsticks that I keep meaning to replace.  It's a cool toned light pink colour, and it's a cream sheen finish, which is one of my favourite types of MAC lipsticks.  They're creamy, pigmented and mildly hydrating.  I like this shade as it's not often I find a light lipstick that doesn't really wash me out.

MAC - Show Orchid
This is one of my all time favourite MAC lipsticks, and the only one that I've re-bought!  Up until Candy Yum Yum, Show Orchid was the brightest pink in the permanent range.  This is a little deeper, more fuchsia than Candy Yum Yum, so is a bright yet wearable shade.

MAC -  Sweet Thing
This is one of those lipsticks (like most of my MAC lipsticks) that I held on to in order to find a replacement.  It's merdium fuchsia pink with pink shimmer.  It's a glaze finish, which means that it's pretty sheer (although it does layer to medium opacity).  Glazes really dry out my lips, but I love the colour.  This one will be going in the bin soon, as over Christmas I found one that's very close in colour....

Guerlain Rouge Automatique in Illusion
The latest addition to my lipstick collection, this was part of the Crazy Paris collection, and one that I bought in the hopes that it would be a match for my old Sweet Thing lipstick.  It's a medium fuchsia with pink sparkle.  It's pretty opaque, and more pigmented than Sweet Thing (it's not hard to sheer down a lipstick should I want sheerer colour).  Despite it being so pigmented, it still feels and looks light on.  The sparkle is quite subtle and grown up, rather than glittery or overly frosted.  Rouge Automatiques don't feel quite as luxurious as the Rouge Gs, but it's still a really nice lipstick.

If anybody knows of any good replacements for Gladiola, My Treat and Of Royalty, let me know!  They're great colours and I'd love to be able to wear them again!

Pink Lipsticks Part One

Continuing on from my red lipstick collection, here is the first half of my pink lipstick collection.  14 lipsticks was just too many to swatch on my lips in one sitting, so I'll do the other half later in the week!  Apologies for some of the lipsticks looking a little messy.  They're well loved!

Armani Lip Maestro Shade 505
First off is the newest addition to my collection!  I love Armani Lip Maestros.  They're pigmented, long wearing, and incredibly comfortable for a liquid lipstick.  This colour was so hard to photograph, as it's so bright it's verging on neon.  Amazing, but not for the faint of heart!  This colour is part of their 2013 winter collection, so you might still be able to nab this before it disappears.

YSL Rouge Volupte in Pink Caress (09)
YSL Rouge Volupte lipsticks are incredibly creamy.  Pink Caress is a medium pink that's fully opaque.  Super moisturising and glossy, the only down side to this is the wear time.  It won't make it through a meal, but it's a good option if you suffer from dry lips.  These also have a really nice sweet smell to them.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick
There are so many versions of Clinique's Chubby Sticks these days, and this is Revlon's offering.  It applies smoothly and evenly, and whilst it feel quite a thin consistency, it's fully opaque.  Staying power is pretty good, and it fades down to a pink stain.  I love the bright pink shade too.  My only complaint is the fake mint smell it has.  It's the one thing that stops me reaching for this more often.

Clinique Different Lipstick in Ice Rose
I usually stay away from frosted lipsticks as they can be quite drying.  Ice Bloom however lives up to it's name, and truely is different.  It's a medium raspberry pink with subtly gold shimmer, which gives it is slightly frosted finish.  Unlinke other frost lipsticks I've tried, this applies smoothly and evenly, and doesn't dry out my lips at all.  Every time I wear this lipstick, I wonder why I don't more often.

Revlon Lip Butter in Sugar Frosting and Strawberry Shortcake
The beauty world went mad for these when they first came out, so of course I had to get my hands on a couple to see what all the fuss was about.  These sheer lipsticks are moisturising and comfortable, perfect for every day wear.  Staying power isn't that great, but balm like lipsticks usually lack in that department.  They're not my favourite formula, but as far as drug store lipsticks go, they're not half bad!

Sugar Frosting is a really pale pink.  Usually I stay away from really pale lipsticks, but as it's so sheer this makes my lips paler, without washing me out.  It's a really good choice for teaming with a dark smokey eye.

Strawberry Shortcake is a sheer medium pink.  It's a great every day pink, which adds a pop of colour to your lips without being too bright.

Armani Rouge d'Armani Shade 507
This is my all time favourite pink lipstick.  It's a medium bright pink with subtle yellow undertones, and it looks great against my pale cool toned complexion.  It's a creamy, pigmented formula, that moisturises while I wear it.  It has great staying power for such a light, soft lipstick.  Love love love it!
