I've been wanting to do a look with Shiro's May The Fourth Be With You eyeshadow for a while now. I picked Makeup Revolutions lipstick in The One when I had to break a £10 note for change before work, as they're only £1 each. I'm not sure on it yet. It's a lot paler than I would usually wear.

Illamasqua Once review and FOTD
By now I'm sure you've seen Illamasqua's Once collection. It's one of their tamer collections, which to be honest disappoints me a little. I'd have loved to have seen a couple more 'out there' products mixed in to the collection. I only picked up two items - Melange nail polish and Bibelot Vintage Metallix.
From the moment I saw Melange nail polish I knew that I had to have it. It's the only item from the collection that really jumped out at me, and I have to say that I love it just as much as I'd hoped. It's a lovely medium teal with gold shimmer running through it. The website says it's a matte finish but I don't really think it is (it photographs more matte than it looks in real life). I've have to try putting a matte top coat on it soon.
It applied easily and was opaque in two coats. I've managed to go 24 hours so far without chipping it, which is fairly impressive for me. If there is just one thing you're going to splash out on, make it this!
I also decided to pick up a Vintage Metallix, their new cream-gel eyeshadow. I opted for Bibelot which is described as 'vintage green', which is pretty accurate. It has the gold-bronze shimmer running through it, as is really pretty.
Application however, was interesting. I found that the best way to apply this is in thin layers, buffing it out with a tapered blending brush. Usually I'd apply a cream shadow with a synthetic flat shader brush, but I found that applied the colour unevenly to begin with. I did one or two layers with my finger, blending it out, then patted some more onto the lid with the flat shader brush, again making sure to blend out. Fortunately the shimmer doesn't disappear when blended out, although I did get some fall out. I love the way it looks, but it was quite a lengthy learning process.
For a cream shadow it does wear well. Usually cream shadows crease like mad on me within the first hour, even with a primer. I did apply Bibelot on top of my Nars eyeshadow base, but even so I have been pleasantly surprised at how it wears. There was a little fading in the crease area at around the two hour mark, but I've hit 7 hours now and there isn't much difference. Not sure I'll be picking up the other two though.
I paired it with Illamasqua's Naked Rose blush (also part of this collection) and MUFE's Lab Shine Gloss in Shimmering Beige. Liner is Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Scorch.

Poisonberry FOTD
I'm on holiday at the moment and have hardly been wearing any makeup as it's so hot! I also didn't bring my camera as I don't want to risk having it in my suitcase, so any make I have done, I haven't been able to photograph. I did this look a week or so ago I didn't write down the products I used. I know it's Lime Crime's Poisonberry on my lips, and some of the shadows are from Shiro. The green liner is Urban Decay, and my highlighter, Pink Gold, is a recent purchase from Laura Mercier. I was going to do a review of the highlighter, but I have yet to get decent photographs of it. It's such a subtle, pretty highlighter, and it's my go to product at the moment!

It's all about the base FOTD
I picked up Laura Mercier's caviar stick in Jungle. It's a really nice deep green. I was a little dubious as to what the wear time would be like as MAC shade sticks don't last all that well on me. I'm not sure whether it was the caviar stick or the Nars primer, but this didn't crease!
This look is a great example of how the right coloured base can totally change a duo-chrome shadow. Angry Cuccos is usually very pale green, but Jungle really pulled out the pink in it. This look looked totally different in different lighting situations, but I tried to capture the shadows at their most vibrant. I Guess You're OK was an amazing teal colour in some lights.
I've also put a link to all my swatches in the top menu bar.

Benefit Big Easy Review and FOTD
I've been working for Benefit Cosmetics for about 3 weeks now, so I've had plenty of time to put some of their products to the test. I'll admit right now that when I worked for Benefit about 4 years ago I hated their foundations, and I haven't given them a second glance since. Their Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation really doesn't work for me. The palest shade is too yellow, and the pinkest shade too dark, and my oily skin barely goes two hours before I need to powder. Step in Big Easy.
Big Easy is Benefit's version of a BB cream. I'm not sure I'd really class it as one though, as it doesn't really have any skin care benefits, we still recommend a primer, and due to the cream to powder formula if you have oily skin you'll definitely need to moisturise. That being said, it does have SPF 35, which is great as we're getting into the summer. Here is where I would normally put in a product picture, but I'm away from home at the moment and forgot to take a picture before I left. So on with the pictures of the foundation in action (click the pictures to enlarge).
Bare skin/Big Easy
Bare skin/Big Easy
As it's a cream to powder formula I find it's be applied with my fingers. It blends out really easily, and sets down quickly. It's a sheer-medium foundation, and whilst it's a powder it doesn't look powdery. Instead it has a lovely satin-matte finish that leaves skin looking smoother. It's not going to cover up darker blemishes like the ones I have on my chin. But I think the best way to look like you have nice skin is to use the lightest coverage you can get away with, and then conceal any bad patches with concealer. If you're looking for a full coverage you should probably skip this one.
As it's a powder finish most can skip the setting powder. I like to set my concealer, and then dust a little over my t-zone though.
For me, the real test of a foundation is how well it holds up against my oily skin. Even with mattifying moisturisers and primers, I still need to powder around the 3-4 hour mark. Big Easy can make it through 6 or 7 hours before I start feeling shiney. This is honestly the best foundation for oily skin that I have ever tried! I pair it with Porefessional, and I don't have to worry about my skin until the last hour or so of my shift. I never thought I'd give up my Touche Eclat foundation, but I'm away from home this weekend and it's Big Easy I've packed.
I've had the chance to try this on lots of different skin tones and types over the last 3 weeks. Shade wise, there are only 6 shades, but as the foundation adjusts to match your skin tone more closely (much like Benefit's You Rebel), there will be one to suit most. You may struggle if you have particularly dark skin though, as the darkest shade isn't all that dark. Dryer skin tones will want to make sure that they've moisturised well, as the powder finish can cling to dry patches. That being said, I've seen people with dryer skin love the finish of it. It's worth popping down to your local Benefit counter to try out.
Finally, here's a couple of pics of the finished look!

It's been a while since I used Sleek's Garden of Eden palette, but the sun was shining and I felt like doing something more spring-themed. I patted Illamasqua's pigment in Beguile over the middle of the lid to add a bit of sparkle, but it hasn't really shown up in the pictures.

Green and purple with a splash of glitter tutorial
It's been way too long since I did a tutorial! This was one of those looks that I started with no idea as to where it was going. I can't help but think of The Joker when I look at it though...
1. After priming your eye, apply Milk all over the lid, blending up to the brow bone.
2. Pat Angry Cuccos on the inner lid.
3. Apply I Guess You're Okay to the outer half of the lid, blending into Angry Cuccos.
4. Sweep That'ssss A Nice House into your crease area, taking it up towards the brow bone.
5. Apply We're Up All Night To Get Loki to crease, blending as you go, but not taking it as high as the previous green shadow.
6. Pat You Know Nothing under the brow bone, and blend down.
7. Gently place I'll Move That For You along the outer v, making sure you don't over-blend. I then tidied up the line with some makeup remover.
8. Draw a thin black line with black liquid liner on the lid.
9. Along the lower lash line, apply Shake It Up!.
10. Apply Psychedelic Sister to the water line.
11. Add mascara and you're done!

Teal and black liner FOTD
I do this look quite a lot, albeit with different shadows. I switched things up a bit by using a teal liner as well as black. I'm dreading taking this off though, as the teal liner stains like a bitch. Not even Lancome's Bi-Facil will budge it. Guess you can't fault it's staying power!

Purple speckled eyeliner FOTD
Back in the spring of 2013 Illamasqua released their I'mperfection collection, and one of my favourite looks from the collection was a speckled liner look they did. The look used black and white liners, and I re-created it back then and loved it. Today I decided to try the look with purple and black liner. I don't think it worked so well, but here's the look anyway.

Sweetheart FOTD
Just a quick look I did yesterday. It was nice to do something bold again. I think my gel liner is coming to the end of it's life though, it's getting hard to draw a smooth line. It's lasted longer than the Bobbi Brown gel liner I had before though. That dried out super quick! Think I'll probably be re-buying the Illamasqua liner.
